The corona crisis poses a precarious situation for many people around the world. In order to be there for one another, an initiative for domestic aid was launched in Austria. "Austria helps Austria" is a donation project run by Austria's leading aid organizations and Austrian Broadcasting Corporation.
The pandemic affects us all. But above all older, sick and dependent people and the homeless, children and their families as well as entrepreneurs, whose turnover has plummeted to € 0,00 from one day to the next, affects it particularly.
The Caritas Vienna was entrusted with the handling of the donations by the cooperation partners of the campaign (ORF, Caritas, Diakonie, Hilfswerk, Red Cross, Volkshilfe and the Arbeiter Samariterbund). Caritas Vienna as a long-standing customer of GRÜN Software Group has been successfully using the for many years to manage its own donation projects donation management GRÜN VEWA .
A challenge for Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna was to raise the donations from "Austria helps Austria“To separate from the organization's other donations. The solution together with GRÜN Software Group Within a very short time a second VEWA donation administration was implemented at Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna, through which all donations of the new donation project can be booked, thanked and the tax office reports can be carried out.
Within 8 weeks, the campaign was approved by all those involved (ORF, aid organizations, GRÜN Software Group, Mullenlowe GGK Agency and i-kiu | motion, graphic, backend gmbh) implemented from June 2020, and "Austria helps Austria" officially presented on August 6, 2020 in a press conference.
The initial aim was to make the new brand “Österreich helps Austria” known. Although an active appeal for donations was not made in this first phase and the big explosion in Beirut shook the world one day before the press conference, the fundraising campaign got off to a successful start. In a second phase, which started on August 21, 2020, targeted TV spots were shown promoting the donation project - this time with an active appeal for donations. In this first phase, the project will run until mid-September; a restart is planned for March 2021.
All donations collected go to those people in Austria who are particularly affected by crisis-related needs. Triggered by the corona pandemic, “Austria helps Austria” is a long-term donation project for domestic aid in the event of future domestic crises. “Neighbors in Need”, the Austrian donation project for foreign aid, serves as a model.
