New web shop from Mobau Thelen with articles from the merchandise management system GRÜN TeamServ

Mobau Thelen is a hardware store, garden center and wholesaler for building materials, gardening and landscaping, building elements, roofing and facades, tiles and plumbing in Simmerath. For many years, Mobau has used Thelen to manage over 42.000 items available in DIY stores GRÜN TeamServ, the market-leading software for trading companies and associations of the GRÜN raw.

New web shop with data from merchandise management

About a new one Webshop Mobau Thelen now also offers all customers the opportunity to order items from the hardware store online. "We've had the idea and the need for our own web shop for many years," says Marcel Rosenthal, store manager at Mobau Thelen. “In the beginning, items were sold on eBay or eBay classifieds, but this quickly reached its limits. So we now wanted to implement a professional solution.”

For the implementation of the web shop, the digital agency giftGRÜNwho like GRÜN raw to GRÜN Group belongs, commissioned. “It was obvious for us to have a web shop GRÜN to implement, since all solutions come from one company", says Rosenthal, naming an important success factor for efficient implementation.

Shopware as the basis of the web shop

The basis of the new web shop is the dynamic open source solution Shopware.

All standard functionalities of the Mobau Thelen web shop are provided via Shopware. These include the shopping cart functionalities, the checkout process, the integration of payment options, the calculation of shipping costs and the flexible categorization of products.

Thanks to the latest web technologies, the web shop adapts completely fluidly to the most diverse device sizes. The standardized breakpoints are available in 480px, 768px, 1024px and 1260px, which ensures an optimal display - regardless of which end device the Mobau Thelen web shop is to be displayed on. This enables higher conversion and perfect usability on all end devices.

TeamServ connector

In addition to Shopware and merchandise management GRÜN TeamServ, the TeamServ connector is the third important component in the Mobau Thelen web shop.

The connector was developed by the digital agency giftGRÜN created as a real-time interface between the merchandise management TeamServ and Shopware. The advantage: the articles from the merchandise management system can be made available easily and conveniently in the online shop.

The around 3.000 articles currently offered in the web shop and the associated most important article master data come from merchandise management GRÜN TeamServ. For example, the item name, the price or the item number are made available directly from the merchandise management system in the web shop via the connector.

In addition, the connector enables an automatic comparison of the item names, the item price or the inventory. But the connector also returns data from the web shop to the merchandise management system GRÜN TeamServ: After a customer has placed an order, the order data and a receipt are automatically sent to the merchandise management system so that the inventory in TeamServ is always up to date. This means that after-buy processes in TeamServ are still possible without any problems.

Care by employees at Mobau Thelen

The Mobau Thelen web shop is managed completely independently by Mobau Thelen employees. If the items were provided in Shopware via the TeamServ connector, additional information such as product images or product specifications can be easily and conveniently enriched and published.

And there is still a lot to do here in the future, because the web shop is to be further expanded in the future. "In the coming weeks and months, we want to offer more items for online purchase via the web shop," says Rosenthal as a short-term goal. "In the medium term, the customer card that Mobau Thelen makes available to all Markt customers should also be integrated into the web shop."

Click and Collect to pick up the items on site

Mobau Thelen also offers a click-and-collect function in the web shop, which enables an online order to be picked up at the Mobau store in Simmerath.

The items can currently be bought and paid for online. However, Mobau Thelen would like to offer regional customers in particular cash payment at the on-site checkout in the future. Finally, a connection to the Mobau Thelen customer card is also being considered, which rounds off the offer for regional customers.
